Certified Mail Return Receipt provides proof of USPS letter delivery of mail. The 'old fashioned green card' is being replaced by a new Electronic Return Receipt that tracks letter delivery and in route delivery status.
Certified Mail Return Receipt
Certified Mail provides proof of mailing and delivery of mail. The sender receives a mail receipt at the time of mailing and the Certified Mail Return Receipt from the US Postal Service when the letter is delivered. Certified Mail Return receipt is First Class mail that gives evidence of mailing as well as evidence of a Certified Mail letter delivery by specifically identifying each item sent with a unique number. These numbered Certified Mail Return Receipts are often referred to as the ‘green card’ Return Receipt. Today a new Electronic Return Receipt is provided with USPS Certified Mail. This provides the sender proof of mailing and delivery electronically. Using a Certified Mail Envelope with Electronic Return Receipt ™ provides the ‘in-route’ letter tracking and letter delivery of each letters mailing.
Proof of service by Certified Mail, Return Receipt requested includes the date of receipt, because it is noted on the Return Receipt. Learn more about Certified Mail with Return Receipt including Certified Mail Electronic Return Receipt. mb |
