Three costs make up the current USPS Certified Mail rates:

1.  First-Class Postage $0.45 (this is a letter size envelope, up to 1 oz in weight)
2.  Certified Mail Fee $2.95
3.  Return Receipt (Green Card) $2.35 or Return Receipt Electronic $1.15

Total Cost per Letter $5.75 if using old fashioned Green Cards or $4.55 if Return Receipt Electronic Signature is used.
