Inspired by the exploration and celebration of color in the current exhibition Spilling Over: Painting Color in the 1960s, the Whitney Shop has invited Radiant Human, the portrait practice of visual artist Christina Lonsdale, to create photographs of shop patrons and their auras. This multi-month residency in the shop offers patrons the opportunity to see their own human atmosphere and experience the art of aura photography, a process that visually captures the electromagnetic energy given off by a person as color. Tickets are required and are available directly through Radiant Human on select days between April 3 and August 5; $40 for one portrait including a personal interpretation by the artist.
