Using a fine fishing line or cotton thread, it can be left floating or attached to a surface such as rock or driftwood. It will form mats that will provide hiding places for invertebrates and fry while also providing a low foreground texture to the aquarium plants. It is adaptable to a wide range of aquarium conditions, but it thrives in cool temperature aquariums with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 25°C and light levels ranging from low to medium.
