A stunning fine desk set, 2 pieces: antique French .800/1000 pure silver (boar's head mark) with 18k gold layer (vermeil) desk pieces to include both the 8 5/8 long letter opener or paper knife, and the monogrammed wax seal. Each with a perfect handle in carved agate. The 2 pieces are just elegant, preserved with the 18k gold coating on fine silver quite fully intact. They look like gold. You have to find the tiny French mark (boar's head profile) to know that the gold is over .800/1000 pure French worked silver. Blade is cutaway, truly opulently worked.

Excellent condition, both pieces. A deep amber colored agate, not a nip nor chip. No dents to the silver. A perfect set, dating to late 1800s, perhaps as late as 1910. Measurements of both pieces noted on the photos. You are buying both pieces together, as they came to us from France.
