The United States Postal Service (USPS) has submitted new 2014 postal rates to the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) appointed by President Obama. If approved, the new 2014 USPS postage rates will begin Sunday, January 26, 2014.
The new 2014 cost of sending a 1-ounce USPS Certified Mail letter with Return Receipt (green card) will be $6.48. If you send Certified Mail with Electronic Delivery Confirmation the cost will increase from the current $4.26 cost to $4.51.

Each additional OZ of First Class mail will cost $0.21 per OZ.
On average USPS Certified Mail rates will increase +6.5.%, Return Receipt costs will go up +7.5% and First Class postage will increase two cents or +4%.

1. First-Class Postage $0.48 (this is the 1 oZ. rate for metered or PC Postage rates)
2. Certified Mail Fee $3.30
3. Return Receipt (Green Cards) $2.70 VS: the Return Receipt Electronic price of $1.35
